Caught On Camera: Bloomfield’s Cookie Connect Targeted by Tip Jar Kidnapper Same Day He Hit Nutley

by admin

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Cookie Connect, on West Passaic Ave. at the intersection of Nutley’s Kingsland St. was targeted by the same person who “kidnaped” the tip jar at Nutley’s Urban Leaf. Both incidents were caught on camera.

TAPinto filed the story about the Urban Leaf events last week. This weekend, we learned of a second incident at Cookie Connect in Bloomfield that took place before the one in Nutley.

According to the owners of Urban Leaf on Franklin Ave, a man entered the establishment asking to borrow $35 because his car broke down. He told the clerk that he didn’t have enough cash to pay for a tow truck.

The man, thinking that he was not being observed, grabbed the tip jar and hid it under his shirt. The owners of Urban Leaf described the incident as “This crook kidnaped our tip jar.” They contacted the Nutley Police Department with the details of the incident.  It was later discovered that the man is a Saddle Brook resident with ties to Nutley. Urban Leaf shared video of that incident with TAPinto.

Nutley police reported last week that he targeted several businesses in Nutley and Clifton, including a local salon, with a similar story. Today we learned he also hit at least one business in Bloomfield. In Nutley, the actor wore a face mask. In Bloomfield, he is seen clearly without a face mask. The actor has forearm tattoos and drives a blue pickup truck.

The owners of Urban Leaf stated that they are grateful no one was harmed in any of the incidents. They also urged every business owner in the community to remain alert for him, and other possible scammers.
